Landour is a small contentment town about 35 km from the city of Dehradun in the north state of Uttarakhand in India.You can reach here by hiring a cab from Dehradun. Here you can easily book any hotel Homestay or Resort for your stay. Landour is known for its scenic beauty, serene atmosphere and colonial charm. The famous Anglo-Indian author Ruskin Bond's residence is also here.

If I talk about the
history of Landour, the town was established during the British Raj as a
cantonment area and hill station for the British officials and soldiers.
It was named after a Welsh village called Llanddowror, the birthplace of Sir
Landour, a British officer. Landour was favoured by the British due to its
pleasant climate and breathtaking views of the Himalayan range.

The main attractions of Landour are-
1.Lal Tibba:- Lal Tibba is the highest point of Landour and the most scenic point for viewing the valley on one side and snow capped Himalayan range including Nanda Devi and Badrinath on a clear day. It offers breathtaking phenomenal views. At dusk, in the setting sun, a bald patch of the peak gets a blush red glow. And that is how the place got its name 'Lal Tibba'. Entry fees Rs. 50 per head and if you order food one person gets free entry.

2.Kellogg memorial church:- One of the famous landmarks of Landour is the historic Landour Clock Tower which is also known as Kellogg Memorial church. It was built in 1840. It is a popular tourist attraction and it provides the phenomenal views of surrounding Hills and valleys. The church only opens on Sunday so make a plan according to it. This area is very calm and peaceful. If you want to spend some time in a peaceful environment you must come here.

3.Chaar Dukaan:- Landour
is also famous for its tranquil atmosphere and scenic hiking trails. One of the
most well-known trails is the "Chaar Dukaan'' (Four Shops) area, which
comprises a cluster of four shops that serve delicious snacks and refreshments.
The area is a popular spot for locals and tourists to relax, enjoy the
beautiful views, and savour the local cuisine.
